A Bench Built for Embedded Design

Applying a microcontroller, an interface IC and an NFC device correctly is as important as choosing the right part, and because the performance depends on the power, the bus timing and the antenna, the integration decides whether the board boots reliably, the bus stays clean and the reader works. To support customers more effectively, BeiLuo has opened an FAE verification bench dedicated to NXP LPC microcontrollers, I2C interface ICs and NFC devices. The bench lets our engineers measure the MCU power, the I2C bus timing and the NFC read range before a customer commits to a design, turning advice into evidence.

The bench complements the stock program announced in July. Where the stocking program answers the question of whether a part is available, the new bench answers the question of whether the part will perform in a specific application. Together they let BeiLuo support a design from selection through validation, rather than only at the point of sale.

What We Measure

The bench is equipped with a programmable power supply, a precision current meter, a high-bandwidth oscilloscope with a differential probe, a logic analyzer and an NFC reference card set. Engineers measure the MCU current in each low-power mode and the wake time, the I2C rise time and the bus timing at the cold and the hot corners, the function of the I2C switch and the expanders, and the read range and the tuning of an NFC antenna across the protocol cards.

MCU Power and the Bus

The bench measures the current in each power mode and the wake time, which matters for a battery design, and it confirms the clock and the peripheral behavior of the chosen part. A logic analyzer and a scope capture the I2C waveform, so the bench can confirm the rise time and the setup and hold margins across the temperature and the supply, which is where a marginal bus shows itself.

NFC Read Range and Tuning

An NFC reference card set lets the bench measure the read range and the tuning of the antenna across the protocol cards, so a customer can confirm the range before the product is built and adjust the matching where it is short. The read range is set by the antenna and the field, so the measurement is the practical test of the RF design.

From Selection to Validation

When a customer asks which device suits their design, our FAE team can now validate the recommendation on the bench. We measure the MCU power and the bus timing, or the NFC read range, compare the result with the datasheet expectation and confirm the margin. The result is a design path backed by measured data, which reduces the risk of a late-stage surprise and shortens the path to a reliable design.

Bus and Antenna Validation

The bench can bring up a customer's board and confirm the I2C bus across the temperature corners, exercise the switch and the expanders and measure the NFC read range with the reference cards. That turns a bus or an antenna question into a measured answer and supports a design that passes on the first attempt.

Supporting a Design End to End

The bench is a support tool, not a test house, and it is strongest when used early. A typical engagement starts with a selection question, moves to a bench check of the chosen devices under the customer's conditions, and ends with a validated recommendation for the MCU, the interface ICs and the NFC device. Because BeiLuo holds the devices in regional stock, the validated part can then move quickly to a sample and a production order.

How to Use the Bench

Customers can request a bench evaluation by sending their MCU and interface needs, their bus and temperature, and their NFC cards and range target to the BeiLuo team. Our engineers will set up the test, measure the key parameters and share the results with a design recommendation. Because the bench and the stock program work together, a customer can validate a device on the bench and then hold production stock within the same week. The bench is one more reason to treat BeiLuo as a technical partner for NXP devices rather than a simple parts supplier.
